Jose and I have been seeing this kind of stuff on his Advisor Haven wiki. We've been giving these guys indefblocks [1]. Regards, Tuxide 23:53, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

Do you have access to this MediaWiki installation? I am wondering how good http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/SpamBlacklist_extension is. I only recommend it because it is installed on all Wikimedia Foundation sites, but I've never used it myself. Regards, Tuxide 03:15, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
Nope, it's running on Xordans webspace. I can easily ask him to do stuff though. What log would I have to check to see how effective the blacklist is? --Kerol 06:03, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
Sorry, I asked around and apparently stuff like this isn't logged since edits with blacklisted urls aren't made in the first place. I suppose the only way to test it for certain is to go to Wikipedia's sandbox and try to insert a blacklisted url. There is also http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit which can be used to prevent accounts from being registered by bots. All Wikimedia Foundation sites use this plugin as well. User:Roobolh would like a bot flag

Hello, Kerol.

I set up a PyWikipediaBot to help out in cases of particularly boring work. If you could set the bot flag for this account, please, so he won't flood the Recentchanges when working. Thanks in advance. --Daevaorn 11:19, 8 January 2008 (EST)
