There are many creatures throughout Yliakum, in here you will find information on both ferocious (and not so ferocious) creatures as well as rogues and other vile characters.
Wild Animals
Rarely are animals found in large cities except for rats which come and infest the sewers and cellars. Animals are often the best for people seeking to train since they range from simple creatures such as rats to extremely powerful monsters such as ulbernauts. Because of this, some creatures have been brought to the Hydlaa Arena so that various people can fight them without having to look for them.
Rats
Most certainly the commonest creature in Yliakum, rats have become a pest in the large towns. They proliferate where food is freely available, and tend to always find a way to it. They will eat the rotting corpses in sewers as well as the fresh meet in someone's cupboard. They will attack people if they get too close, however they are so inoffensive that kids often tease them just for fun.
- Appearance
- Rats in this world are quite large creatures with greyish fur. They have one eye and a skinny tail. They attack you with their sharp teeth, a Rat's bite can be quite painful, though it does not deal too much damage to you.
- Strength
- Due to the fact that they are quite easy to defeat, they are a good start for weaker fighters to get some experience and practice.
- Natural Habitat
- Rats can be found in the sewers of Hydlaa or the warehouse district of Ojaveda.
Gobbles
Gobbles are dark creatures living in Hydlaa's sewers and probably other dark places. Unlike popular believes, they are very smart, and it is said among scientists that they can even speak to each other. Their longs limbs allow them to run quickly as well as to attack any creatures passing by.
- Appearance
- A short, humanoid creature with mottled skin and a nasty disposition. These beings can be dangerous to the young and inexperienced. They have limited intelligence, but can be communicated with if one speaks their native tongue.
- Natural Habitat
- They have been found in the labyrinthine sewers of Hydlaa City.
Clackers
Clackers are very closely related to crabs. Just like them, they have a hard exoskeleton. This exoskeleton gives them protection and makes them very robust. Their two front limbs transformed into razor-sharp blades used to inflict serious damage to anyone who comes to close to them.
- Appearance
- An instect-like creature resembling an over-sized hermit crab.
- Strength
- Fairly stupid and not a serious threat to persons of experience.
- Natural Habitat
- The arena has a fairly large population of these, but many are also found in sewers and dungeons throughout Yliakum. Clackers are sometimes hunted for their meat, which is used to prepare many flavourful dishes.
Carkarass
Carkarass are the only type of flying creatures along with pterosaurs and megarases. They are seldom seen in the world of the living, but many people coming back from the Death Realm comment to have seen these flying around. Not much is known of them, all scientists know is that they live in the death realm and that they fly.
- Appearance
- A feathered, flying creature with two tails.
- Strength
- Not a hindrance to any experienced adventurer, but amateurs should beware.
- Natural Habitat
- They are occasionally seen roaming around the Death Realm
Poison Carkarass
- Appearance
- A Poison Carkarass resembles a lot like a normal Carkarass. Most people cannot distinguish one from the other
- Strength
- Poison Carkarasses are far stronger then a normal Carkarass, so beware when engaging a fight with them.
- Natural Habitat
- Just like the normal Carkarass, they live in the Death Realm.
Fire Carkarass
- Appearance
- They Fire Carkarasses are identical to other Carkarasses however, they can be distinguished by their fiery colour
- Strength
- Fire Carkarasses are as strong as Poison Carkarasses
- Natural Habitat
- Fire Carkarasses live with all other species of Carkarasses, in the Death Realm.
Consumers
Consumer are rarely seen and little is known from them. It has been only in recent years that consumer have been seen, and scientists speculate that they arrived via the great pits in which the dead are thrown. They will eat anything which fits in their large, round mouth, and it is believed that they have the ability to "upgrade" themselves from what they eat. For example, if they eat intelligent creatures, they will themselves become more intelligent.
- Appearance
- A being with a large, caterpillar like torso and a massive maw of needle-like teeth.
- Strength
- Consumers are aptly named due to the fact that they can eat and digest almost any known substance and have a constant, ravaging hunger. It is rumored that the only thing consumers cannot digest are certain types of magical weapons and armor, although this information has never been confirmed first hand. Although Consumers have no eyes, they possess an uncanny ability to find prey using the strange sensory organs attached to their torso.
- Natural Habitat
- Consumers are rare, but can be found in the wilds between Hydlaa and the Bronze Doors. Some have been spotted on the Ojaroad.
Tefusang
- Appearance
- A large nasty beast with leathery skin, horned appendages, and two large tentacles hanging from their torso.
- Strength
- The potential strength of this breed varies widely, ranging from average to almost supernatural strength. A good adventurer would be wary when approaching one of these creatures, because it is hard to judge the level of threat just from appearance. Tefusang's leathery skin and teeth are valued for both armor and alchemical formulas and can fetch a modest price from many merchants.
- Natural Habitat
- Tefusangs are seen throught Yliakum. Although fairly common, they tend to avoid highly populated places and prefer areas which are rarely accessed. There is also a colony which has been brought to the arena for anyone who would like to train.
Trepor
- Appearance
- An intelligent and hostile creature resembling a spider, but with a human face.
- Strength
- Trepors are foul beings and some are even rumored to be able to use magic. Trepors are difficult, but not impossible to slay.
- Natural Habitat
- They dwell in the wilds for the most part, although a colony of them was established for training purposes in the Hydlaa Arena. One can fetch a very nice fee for the hearts of these monsters from animal part merchants.
Grendol
- Appearance
- A foul beast that reeks of death.
- Strength
- Although its stupidity, it has very heavy limbs which can easily inflict serious damage most untrained players.
- Natural Habitat
- This abomination dwells in dungeons and dark places, preying upon the unwary. Most are of a malignant nature, although there are rumors about the existence of an intelligent, neutral being resembling a Grendol existing somewhere in one of the nether realms.
Ulbernauts
- Appearance
- Ulbernauts are vicious and extremely powerful beasts.
- Strength
- One of the deadliest creatures in all of Yliakum, Ulbernauts stand over four meters tall, have two massively clawed arms, a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth, a thick coat of near impenetrable shaggy fur, and they can strike at close range with lightning speed. Their one weakness is that they are slow to move across terrain. Even the most experienced adventurer treads lightly around these beasties.
- Natural Habitat
- Rarely encountered, they tend to nest in places far from civilization.
Ulbernauts parts are valued for many things. Their hides and claws are highly valuable to fur and animal part traders, while their hearts are prized by magicians and priests as a component for ritual magic.

Groffels are sometimes used to carry messages from place to place.
