Buying, Selling & Trading

Buying

From the very beginning to the very end of the game, you will need to purchase weapons, armour and items to survive and prosper.

You can buy items directly from some NPCs in the game. Such NPCs are usually tending shops or advertising wares.

To buy from an NPC, approach the NPC, right-click on them and click the Buy icon. A purchasing window will appear:

Alternatively, target the NPC and either use the /buy command or click the Buy button in the shortcuts window.

At the top left are radio buttons for changing between buy mode and sell mode. Below that is a list of all the types of items for sale from this NPC. If you click on one of those types, a list of all available items and their prices will appear in the area on the right.

Click on an item that you are interested in. If you click the Examine button at the top, you will see more detail about the item. Otherwise, click the Buy button to complete the purchase and transfer the item into your inventory.

Lastly, your available money is shown in the bottom left corner of the window.

Selling

As you kill monsters and complete quests, you will begin to acquire loot. You can sell unwanted loot to NPC merchants for money.

To sell to an NPC, approach the NPC, right-click on them and click the sell icon.

If you click on one of those types, a list of the items of that type in your Inventory will appear in the area on the right along with the quantity that you are carrying.

Click on an item that you wish to sell. If you click the Examine button at the top, you will see more detail about the item. Otherwise, click the Sell button to complete the sale and transfer the item from your Inventory. to the NPC, receiving money in return.

Lastly, your current money is shown in the bottom left corner of the window.

Exchanging

Exchanging (also called trading) allows you to give and take items from other players.

To trade with another player, right-click on them and click the exchange icon. An exchange window will appear:

The exchange window is divided into two halves. The left side represents the items and money that you are giving and the right side indicates the items and money you are receiving.

To put items or money into the exchange window, open your Inventory, click the item you wish to trade and click it again in the exchange window. It will appear in the left hand column.

As you are doing this, the other player will be doing the same. You will see the items and money they are offering you appear in the right hand side of the exchange window.

When you are happy with the trade, click the Exchange at the top and the items and money will be transferred.

Giving

Giving is almost the same as exchanging except you get nothing in return. This is used for giving items to NPCs to complete quests.

To give items or money to an NPC, right-click on the NPC and click the Give icon. An exchange window like the above will appear, however it will only have a left hand column:

Put items into the give window as described under exchanging, then press the Give button to transfer the items from your Inventory to the NPC.
