Mining is the ability to dig various natural resources out of the land. It is both physically and mentally exhausting.

Equip a rock pick (can be purchased from merchants)
Search for a mine (or ask people in the game). Fholen Medraa in East Hydlaa is a good resource.
Type in "/dig" or specifically "/dig iron" (or whatever you want to dig for). Alternatively, with the rock pick in hand, you can right click the area and left click the 'use equipped tool' icon that is displayed. Pay attention to your system chat window; if the message 'you don't see a good place to dig' shows, then you are not in a mine-able spot.
Be patient: sometimes you have to dig very often in the same place in order to find an ore.
Digging for ores increases your experience points even when you are not successful.
Some spots at the mines are better than others. Try to find them.

These are some of the basic ores found in Yliakum. Other ores exist, and can be found in time if you ask around.
