Ideas and Approaches

As you know, the main purpose of this wiki is to maintain the given docs on the Main_Page. Aside from that it could provide some space for other ideas and uses for which the forums might not be appropriate for.

Guild Pages

What would be said to having Guild Pages?

I think it would be a good idea if Guild Leaders could make a page on the Wiki for their Guild. Not necessarily for advertising purposes, but just solid, general information about the guild including rules, hierarchy, mission, site links, joining requirements, setting behind it. Perhaps these pages should be entirely in-character. This should of course be policed by other users.

Obviously, there are other places to do this, like on the forums, but this is a Wiki, highlighting information about PlaneShift and I think that the different Guilds would be a good addition.

Maybe rules should be set in place about what type of Guilds are allowed. Newly formed and outlandish guilds should be restricted from creating a page, whereas a respected and older guild may.

This is of course an idea to be built on.

Well, I think it's a good idea, and may help garner interest in visiting and maintaining the wiki from the community. I've started adding some guilds to Category:Guilds, using posts from the Hydlaa Plaza Forums for content, as well as uploading Guild Logos into Category:Guild logos. --Ethryn 22:36, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Volunteering for graphics

Since you can upload media, group and arrange them and discuss very well, this would be an ideal place to hand in graphics without formally joining the art department. I do not have enough time to engage in the project with all the responsibilities that this would involve, yet I would really like to contribute a little.

Let's say someone noticed a 2D pic or 3D mesh missing and just wants to design that one. They could upload it here and it could be collected until someone from the art department does a new round of adding stuff, than they could look here, take over proposals directly or use them as a basis. We could also maintain a list of items without graphics or without unique ones (mainly quest items in form of a potion ...) and thus give an overview over what is needed. --Daevaorn 08:39, 30 December 2007 (EST)

Sorry this wiki can not be used for that, if you wish to contribute art you need to contact an art dev or post the art on the forum and let the devs deal with it from there, this wiki will not be used for hosting all art assets or new assets. --Caarrie 10:09, 30 December 2007 (EST)

Multilingual wiki

What about a multilingual wiki ? Since there are several translation files at work, could it be possible to work on a multilingual version of this wiki. Not every page and article, mark me, but the essential to know to begin playing to PlaneShift (Player's Guide, for example). Ethelbert 11:41, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
