This week I finally came up with a practical plan on how I'm going to do things. (Present on wiki... Tribe Rework)

I started coding on the Recipe Manager. Made up all the basic things so far, like declaring the classes, structure, methods to load information from the database and for dumping stats to the console. Also made the recipes database and the operation correspondences db. (though I am not sure It will be required at all)

I made it available on sourceforge. Hope I didn't make any mistakes. (although rlydontknow said I shouldn't have included msvc updates too) Sorry in advance for it.

I plan to make it work on the following week. For a start I wish only to encode the npctype the same way it's made now. Put everything into a iDocumentNode and pass it to NPCType and then to the npc's Brain.

Note: This is only an intermediate step... for testing purposes and it's a good milestone. If everything turns out ok I intend to remove the usage of xml structures.

Off-topic: Notes on gameplay taken while waiting for different tasks to be done :)

  • I think having the game's 'hud' (or 'gui') with standard commands would be great. In almost any mmorpg I played before... the ESC key closes all the tabs EXCEPT Chat, Info & the Toolbar. I think that should be a standard.
  • Actually this note came from a friend I asked to tryout the game. (he's a pretty hardcore mmorpg-ist) He kinda liked it but suggested the character creation process should feature less-civilized traits. (e.g. : poacher, raider, son of a prostitue, daughter of a priest of some demonic rampaging creature dominating dakkru's realm)
